Fujifilm GA645 trouble starting up

Tryin to revive this conversation. Having the same issue. Dead GA645W. With Fresh batteries LCD starts when turning on APM and shutting off after a second or so, there’s a tiny whining sound before then. Same sound as when you put batteries in. When turning into ISO lcd remains on, knob let’s you select ISO. But that’s it.

Problem started after inserting batteries reversed, positive In negative. It was dark before heading out on the trail.

I’ll try disassemble. If any one has a rough idea on how to do it, it’s welcome to provide it. Kinda started already with the bottom plate ... and that’s it.

Did you ever resolve it? I sold my Fuji GA645w to my repairman for parts. Now my friend has a similar problem with his fuji ga645. The shutter won't fire, lens wont move at all, but the camera stays on.
