Not surprising, since they already announced the 3000. Sigh.

Sad news and I agree with thomas not surprising. I wonder how long Fuji will keep producing film.

No, not surprising in the least... Just disappointing. For as much expired film I have in the freezer, I still feel like I am obligated to go out and buy some fresh film to help out film sales.

And instant film isn't something you can really stock up on or freeze. The pods dry out, and part of the frame will be undeveloped.

I am not going to wax lyrical about my feelings on Fujifilm, but it saddens me that they continue this self fulfilling prophecy, upping the prices and then complaining that nobody is buying the products. I totally understand that they are a business, but shouldn’t they be listening to the demand from the public?

This quote from the article sums things up a bit. Especially the last sentence. The Velvia 50 petition and letters was answered directly from Japan with consoling words and actually had a glimmer of reprieve at first. However, in the end it was not to be.

They had discontinued the 4x5 version of FP100c quite a while ago.

This states nothing about the Type 100 sized (3x4) emulsion, from what I can see.

Well shit, that's all the packfilm gone then...

At the end of the page;

*updated* It seems that in my haste I didn’t read it properly. It is the 4×5 films that are getting the chop. But the regular FP100c film is not going to be far behind is history holds true.

I'm still going to make sure that I have 20-30 packs in my fridge next to the fp-3000 but at least for now color is still being produced.

Once they have finally discontinued all their reversal and peel apart I guess I have no use for Fuji just like I have no use for Kodak.

I'd thought that product was already discontinued based on prior news and rising prices for what I have in the fridge.

They discontinued the 4x5 version some time ago, but I think Fuji sent out a large batch of it. I have been able to get it at my local photo place for quite a while...

We just got in the last of the 3000-- I did take a picture before it went into the cooler.:D

Fuji FP-100C45 4x5 film discontinued by Fuji

Via Japan Camera Hunter:

Sad news today. We have known it for a while, but now it is official. Fujifilm are discontinuing most of the peel-apart films that are so dearly loved by many enthusiast.

The only surprise to me is that I thought it was discontinued a long time ago. It certainly hasn't been available in North America for quite some time.

Heck that was announced a LONG time ago, at least a year I think.

Given the price difference even when it was made I chose to go with the 3.25x4.25 anyway. I can suffer a slightly smaller image area for the price difference. It would be great to have it in 4x5 though, especially if it wasn't so much more expensive than the smaller size.

Threads merged, moved to "Product Availability."

Well shit, that's all the packfilm gone then...

No, the smaller version will remain. And there is that Instax film. A packfilm too, though an integral film.

Where I live even Instax is merely salable.
