Does anyone have any tips for getting Fujichrome when it comes in stock at B&H? The 120 format seems particularly hard to grab.

I check it fairly often on mobile and yesterday Sunday 2026-4-19 I saw it in stock at 8:20am Pacific time. I put it in my cart and went to checkout but I decided to sign into my B&H account and apparently that was a mistake because I lost my cart in the process and then it was gone.

Well I suppose there's one obvious answer, by using a paid high frequency web crawler service to get notifications. That's what the scalpers will be using so we might as well compete with them at their own game.

I don´t know the situation in the USA, but here in Europe. Fuji Velvia 100 in 135 format has been quite readily available for the last 8 months or so. Provia or Velvia 50 less so. There were some rumors about Velvia 100 not being sold in the USA because of some US environmental regulations. Is this still the case?

In 120 format, Fuji slide film is almost impossible to get, and if it is available, it will be sold with strict restrictions (2 rolls per client, etc.), and will be sold in hours. But the question for slide film in medium format is of course even more problematic. New slide frames have not been made for years, and Cibachrome does not exist any more. Using slide film only for scanning purposes is probably not worth the effort. Ektachrome is not a bad choice, if you still want to shoot E6 in this format.

If you don't mind paying double the price, you can buy it on Amazon which is imported from Japan. 120 Fujichrome film in stock.

Fuji should make the emulsion and let Kodak coat it.

It truly isn't that simple .......
The emulsion and the substrate are designed with each in mind, and when it comes to 120, with the backing paper and ink in mind as well.

I'm boycotting Fujichrome and spending the money on Instax square. I picked up Nons backs for Hasselblad and RZ67II. So in a way I'm part of the problem

Velvia 100 is officially banned and not sold on B&H or other bona fide retailers. It does leak onto the market through a couple legitimate sources though, so I was able to satisfy my curiosity. I prefer Provia above all else. Provia 120 gets restocked about every month or two and sells out in probably less than an hour online.

Thanks, yes I have actually already ordered one pack that way already and the delivery is very fast air mail from Japan too. But B&H is 60% cheaper than that when it's in stock.

I ended up subscribing to a paid service to monitor the status of the listing and alert me to changes. I would normally consider that kind of activity unscrupulous but I'm competing with scalpers who are using these tools so decided I have to equip myself.

Good luck. I dunno bout B&H, but I've had an order for two packs of Velvia 50 in 120 on backorder at Adorama since 2024.

I've also got a pack of Velvia 50 in processing status at Freestyle since January!

B&H does not mess around, if they let you check out they have it ready to ship. At least that has been my experience with the 35mm.

I had a backorder for it at Adorama since summer 2024 as well. A few months ago they emailed me to tell me they were cancelling my backorder, essentially because they didn't think they'd get it anytime soon, IIRC.
