I am reviving this old thread of mine because I have a question.

In another old thread of mine, on M42 lenses, user Rol_Lei_Nut warned me about mounting the Flektogon 25/4 on some M42 bodies, including the Fujica - here is his post:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Well, I completely forgot about that warning when I was buying the Fujica. Not only that, but I actually used the lens on it, with no problems. I sent a message to Rol_Lei_Nut asking for clarification, but then noticed that his last activity here was about three years ago. I doubt he will reply any time soon, if ever. I searched the internet and found warnings that some lenses could get "locked" on the Fujica, whatever that means.

So, does anyone know why mounting certain lenses on the ST-801 could be a problem? As I said, I used the Flektogon with no problems but, after stumbling upon this warning, have become a bit reluctant to mount it again.

I have a ST810, ST705 and 705W, andn never had compatability problem, I assume the only issue might arise with lenses very wide outsite that might interfere with the external ring for open metering.

Oh, my favourite is the 705W, it has a series of small improvements in comparison to the standard 705.

I had a ST701 back in 1974. I was young so I could not have the ST801. I considered the ST801 one of the best cameras at the time. The LEDs were state of the art and it had open aperture metering (which the 701 lacked). Many years later I use Fuji lenses almost exclusively for 8x10.
