It won't be long now film users will go to the hospital and sell their blood. The other alternative is to eat a lot of bon-bons and find Dr Heller.
Just think of us in the U.K. we have the National Blood Donation Service who want it for free. No money is offered but to be fair, you get a cup of juice and a small snack

One day I mean to ask the nurses why there are never any mirrors or windows in the donation halls. All of the nurses look as if they could do with the blood themselves. They are so pale :D

I'm going to try to shoot less Fuji Provia, and less in general start shooting some monochrome again for the first time in twenty years and try to learn to "see" in black and white again.

I used to go out with one of those National Blood Transfusion Service nurses, and I used to tease her that she was a professional vampire :D

What are the tasty treats? Is it worth flying over to get them?

Hospitals, usually Allergy Floors, would pay for blood. Blood banks didn't pay anything.

This may be redundant Steve but I'll say it anyway. Nobody pays for any blood here in the U.K. It is illegal to sell it or try to buy it. Neither the hospitals, nor the recipients can legally buy or sell it . Same for body parts donations

Well I bet the vampires are relieved to hear that.

its depressing. last week to beat the price hike, I bought 3 boxes of 20 sheets 4x5 provia for $89 each. now same store is $169. large format color is really getting too rich for my blood (trying to tie into the prior blood posts to be a smart ass).

Although it's many years since I used Ektachrome I wouldn't want to buy a large quantity of it because it goes too blue in overcast conditions, newer day's since they discontinued Fuji 400X Professional the only slide film I like is Fuji Provia 100, and I have decided to reduce the amount of it I use and start using some monochrome film again.

Ektachrome results are the best with a Skylight 1A filter to cut the haze and slightly warm the colors. That gets rid of the blue and protects the lens.

This may be your personal preference, but should not be taken for granted by novice users. I find the colours to be excellent without the need for a warming filter.

Yes, it is a personal choice however when someone complains to me that they are getting a bluish cast with Ektachrome and I suggested a warming filter, they have always been happy with the results. Based on the large number of people that have been happy with the Skylight 1A filter over the course of decades, I would think that we have a consistent winner.

You don't have such problems with Ektachrome if you cross process in C41 and enlarge on b&w paper

By the way, the Skylight filter is Kodak's idea. So if you do not like it, boycott Kodak.

Are we talking about old Ektachome or new Ektachrome?

That is the old before discontinuation Ektachrome. The new stuff is definitely better.

I haven't tried the new Ektachrome Matt because it"s even more expensive than Fuji Provia 100.

If you had you would realise that no warming filter is required.

Probably but I switched the C41 films when I started needing to get prints regularly.
