Fuji GX680III strap

I have bought a strap for a Fuji 680 off eBay and I'm struggling to fit it to my mkIII body. Does anyone know if the mkIII has a different strap from the previous models?

Hi there.

There are 2 straps (and a carrying handle) made for the GX680s. The original strap for the GX680 I & II will not fit on a MkIII - this is the one that forms a cradle for the body and attaches to the tripod mount. The MkIIIs takes a conventional strap, though with bespoke lugs, attaching to lugs on the side of the body.

On a personal note, I wish the original strap/cradle had been modified for use with the MkIII as it is much easier (and feels more robust) for use when hand-holding the camera. That being said, the carrying handle is my favourite though it's not so good with the MkIII AE Finder or Magnifying Hood attached.

A strap! Are you implying that you intend to carry this thing around?!?

Its usually in my backpack or attached to a tripod, but I do use it handheld and therefore my need for a strap

You can use a GX680 handheld if needed. Though it is designed to used on a tripod. I have shot handheld and the results are okay. And I use a Tamrac Pro12 to carry the beast and a few lenses in a backpack. I mean I have 2 backs and can shoot Delta and Velvia with on camera. I had to carry 2 F5's to do the same. That thought alone makes the weight bearable as dose the thought of having razor sharp results.
