Thanks to all who have posted on this thread information to convert the remote shutter release for Fuji GX680 I & II/GX680 I & II S models to trigger the shutter for the Fuji GX680 III/GX680 III S models. The info here helped me to find a down and dirty mod to the shutter release that I made and tested. When you open the remote housing you will find a number of color coded unconnected wire pigtails. If you extend the black wire to the circuit board point illustrated on the attached photos, the remote will trigger the camera shutter in either mirror up or mirror down position. You will need to firmly push the remote shutter switch all the way down since if you only push the switch lightly it will not trigger the shutter. You may hear some beeps after the shutter is released which may be related to the 2 stop under exposed warning which I just ignore. The arrow on the 1st photo shows the front side of the circuit board and which leg of the switch that the black wire will attach to on the back side. Photos 2 and 3 show the attachment point on the circuit board back side as well as the heat shrink used to insulate the black wire's extension.
