Hi All
I have a Fuji GW690 III that I picked up cheap on Ebay a while back ( when you could get one for under £300 ! ) it's in generally excellent condition apart from a little scattering of fungus on the lower region of the front lens group.
It's pretty usuable, but does lose some colour saturation if I try colour stock ( which I don't these days ) and slightly reduces contrast on some shadow areas on B&W.
I would like to try fixing this, I have the advantage of working as a lens designer in an optical company. However it would be too damned obvious to try & bring the camera into work ( forbidden ) , it doesn't easily slip into a briefcase !

I've got some tools and have looked at the service manual, which does not have very detailed drawings of the lens assembly.
I just wanted to know if anyone else had succeeded in breaking into the front lens section and could advise ?

The lockring is pretty solid with threadlock, that's my first task to solve.
Then, my question was whether the front two lens elements come out as a group ?
I will look carefully for any orientation, and probably mark the front lens surface temporarily.

My hope is that the fungus could be on the concave surface near the shutter - in that case I can give it to a friend to repolish, then if necessary get it (cold) AR-coated.

Thanks in advance for any tips.
