I own a Fuji 645 with a 60mm lens - the non-automatic version. Several years ago the film advance/double exposure prevention/counter mechanism jammed and a costly repair was needed. A year later it broke again and became intermittent. The film always advances, the counter always does not, sometimes the shutter releases, but usually the double exposure prevention (DEP) stays stuck and the shutter doesn't release. I just got lucky - for two whole rolls the film advance and shutter worked while the counter/DEP did not. It reminded me how great the lens is.
Question: can the counter and DEP be permanently disabled, so that the film advance and shutter release always work? Any Fuji experts out there?
