I use 120 and at the moment I have a choice of one Fuji made mono emulsion–Across.
Their chromagenic film is made by Ilford.
Don't get me wrong I love Neopan 400 I have about 20 rolls or so to use up, the 1600 was never produced in 120 so I have a choice of one – Ilford Delta 3200.

At the moment I'm trying to rationalise my 400 film choice at the moment it's either Tri-x or HP5 although TMax is nice for some types of job.
I'll be looking forward to testing the new Adox APX 400.
I love film and will use it while it's produced, obviously trying to settle on an emulsion or two is hard but its always been that way-things change, and as long as I have 100 and 400 speed film from someone I'll be happy.
 
I would say that 80% of my work is in 120,and I prefer 400 film, so it is difficult to try it, and as I would need to get any Fuji by mail order, getting a couple of films is a problem, neither of the two suppliers locally sell any neopan, only ilford or kodak,I have in the past used Fuji, it is a nice film, I liked it,but it is simply easier to get ilford/kodak, and Fuji was never that big in Black and white, just the 3 films,nice as they may be,it has always seemed that their core was in colour, look at the range of colour films they once had,and to some extent still do,Richard

I have 450 sheets of QL Velvia in the freezer! :whistling:
 
No more Neopan 1600 here the local (Ontario, Canada) rep says and no 1600 Press either, perhaps still 1600 Superia?

On the Neopan I guess its partly my own fault, been shooting mostly Ilford this year for B&W...

Thank you to Ilford to provide us with such good products. By the way Simon Ilford is suppose to be working on a new paper that is suppose to be good with lith development. Did you heard anything about it ?

Maybe so, but why and what is the implication?
Can you offer any solid proof about the 1600 and chromo?

Made the switch myself several years ago and could not be happier with that decision. Outstanding products, both in quality and range of offerings. And, as importantly, in product line stability.

While I understand there can be no absolute guarantees on that third point, Harman's obvious desire to be in the photographic film business makes all the difference.

My only wish would be to see Ilford Products just a bit less expensive.

By the way, for my photographic actual projects Delta 100 has become my favourite film. With Fx39 .

I would translate as:

Perhaps my translaton is in error?

I interpreted it as explaining why, "the small lots of Neopan 1600 among B&W films could not continue to be produced," but you could be right, it could be read to say that Neopan among other B&W films cannot continue to be made in such small batches. If it isn't a form letter, I did ask about film production in general in my correspondence and perhaps this was part of that answer.

Good to know that 800 and 1600 consumer color neg is still being manufactured. I was afraid we had lost both of those emulsions entirely. Too bad getting it here in the States proves difficult.

No sheet film at all in Europe?

When does the U.S.A. get 160NS?

I am just wondering why it is not included on the display shown by Robert. Was it an aesthetic choice, is the film gone, or did they just forget about it or think no one would be interested anyhow?

A film's availability in retail shops does not tell the entire story of what is or is not being manufactured.

Well, I may be in England for a few months early next year. Maybe I can take the opportunity to stock up on Superia 800 and 1600, since at least one of these emulsions, and probably both, will not be long for this world.

When Provia 400X goes, I will be extremely sad as well. I cannot imagine it staying around for that much longer.

I disagree, my 6400 night shots come out well that arent highlights, on the same roll my 51200 shot (a curiousity at the time) came out, thin and grainy and only 3 stops of scene-range, but it was all non-highlight.

Nor is local distribution, eg by Fuji UK (eg: Ceasing importing Astia in 35mm) and others.

Market is online, many people import non-'local' versions due to apparent price-gouging.
