Fuji discontinues Superia 200

I really like superia film. The tone is great for landscape and nature photography. I hate that Fuji keeps cutting it's film offerings. If superia wasn't such a nice film I'd just jump ship from fuji now. I don't shoot their slide film (it's a pain in the ass finding places that develop it- no one does it locally) and their pro film is expensive. It already costs me 15 for development or 19 bucks to develop and low res scans. I add on another 15 bucks to buy film and those 24/36 shots get expensive. Frankly I'm just waiting for the announcement for when Fuji stops producing film altogether (other than instax).
 
Has Fuji discontinued all Superia films now? Besides E6 and 400H, what 35mm color films does Fujifilm make? It's gotten quite confusing now.

It is strange. Supposedly Superia 400 is still going.

May it not be a regional market diacontinuation? A UK limited change. Superia 200 seems to still be available. Maybe I'll have to pick a pack for my snapshooting...

If you go onto fuji's website it still says they're making 200, 400, 800 and 1600 iso superia (global).

In Canada all we can get is fujifilm 200 and fuji superia 400. We can also get their pro films (velvia 50 and 100, provia 100f). I really wish they still kept making their 1600 iso offering. I can survive without 800 iso if I have 1600.
 
Fuji's website policy is a mess.
The only trustworthy information seems to be their published discontinuation publications.
 
Superia 200 is still on the shelves at the local Walmart. Prices went up, though.

I have some Reala 100 ......bought to a time before discontinued.
Knowing Fuji will blame this emulsion as "guilty" and lead it to the scafolld next.

So after all these months, it seems the discontinuation finally hit HEMA store shelves. Walked in today, the usual 3 packs of Superia 200 were gone, and replaced with Fuji C200 single packs.

Better do so Matt - I just noticed it is still avaible AND CHEAP!
But to how long time - nobody knows.

PS : IT is my theory Fuji is total out of production of any film.
So the logic works : the best selling film is the first discontinued.
A propper deal in business : "Go away we can't sell you anythink because we are
business men !! "
 
I don't quite think so and have some hope they still make film and keep doing so, losing them would be losing a heap of excellent materials. Although a closer look grants a not so bright picture. Who knows.
The E6 line with Provia, Velvia 50 & 100 must have been scaled nicely and there may be just a few runs a year. C41 is quite fragmented per markets and Acros sits alone as B&W.
160NS particularly amuses me. The last 220 film (together with Velvia 100), distributed quite asymmetrically. Frankly there must have been something rather extraordinary with Reala given the way it was discontinued...

I was about to buy a bit of superia 200 but ended spending a bit more and got Portra 160 instead.

The japaneese changed their business plan TO advantage of cosmetic products
 
I spoke with the head of Fuji Ireland two years ago and he mentioned that his opinion was that Fuji would only keep one colour C41, ISO 400 film.

Looks like he was right.

They seem to really like those little (and I do mean little) instant cameras and the film for them.

Yes I heart about - but wasn`t this " trend " a short think in 2012-2014 - do they still have this extreme demand to instand cameras ?
This would a possible chance to let some films live (c200 )

Kinda sad to see this, as Superia 200 was the film that finally made the 110 format useful (decades after the 110 format had been introduced, and at a time when 110 was well on the way out).

Of course, this means that I had already lamented the loss of Superia 200 years ago.
 
This sucks. I quickly bought 3 single packs of Superia 200, 400, 800 and Relea 1600.

400 is still going.

I just shot a roll of Relea and I am thinking of buying some more where I got it from, the price is a premium but its expiration date is 2018/11
 
You mean "natura 1600" Tesla was discovered years ago
