Obviously coated by Kodak. But with what emulsion?
Been long since Kodak made a 400 speed emulsion other than Portra 400 and Ultramax.
This video
makes it seem as though it is definitely not Ultramax.

I don't have first hand info, but that youtube video seems like a rather crude comparison to me - why go through all this trouble and then use a different lens for the different shots, which will add another uncontrolled factor?

this comparison seems more useful to me:

the odd thing is that visually they look very similar, the data sheets are quite different, but people in the comments report that the DX code on the fuji 400 is the same as on the kodak 400.

One would expect that there would be enough time in a 10m video to show 2 negatives side-by-side on a light table for a second or two...

I think that is the least of his problems. Seeing the other compare here it clearly is Ultramax.
There is some kind of strong warming filter on the Superia.

Has there always been that type of connection between Fuji and Kodak.?

Never - until extremely recently.
In fact, there was a fair amount of animosity between them at various times through film's heyday.

Kodak and Fuji were fighting tooth and nail in the Movie business. Both firrms had a new line of Movie stocka about every two years. (which is why the current Kodak Movie line is called Vision 3 ) {after vision 2 and Vision and EXP}
Fuji even managed to be the official Still film of the LA Olympics which is on Kodak's Home turf.
