Hello Folks, I have a Linhof Technika, and I recently bought a Fuji 250mm soft focus lens for it. I bought a Copal 3 lens board and mounted the lens on it. When I tried to put the board/lens on the camera, it wouldn't fit. The lens is too close to the bottom of the board, and the board doesn't go all the way down in the slot. I thought I needed a Copal 3 lens board with the hole raised about 1/8 inch above center. I contacted one of the Chinese lens board makers on ebay, and he/they said they couldn't customize it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Is there another maker of Linhof boards? In the U.S.? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

have you tried just raising the standard a bit before mounting the board? Also, does your board have a centered hole or a slightly lowered hole? the standrd from Linhof is a slightly offset lower hole. If thats what you have, then a centered hole board might be enough.

It might be worth wading through this old discussion on another forum

That, actually, is probably a Copal 3S shutter. Did you get the diffusers with yoru lens?

Hey! That worked! Thanks for the suggestion!

And Brian, yes, I do have the diffusers. Now to put one in and try it out.

I knew I could count on the APUG community!

Cheers,

NP, I've used Copal 3 on a master techinka and they're a tight fit. another option is a so called "top hat" board that spaced the shutter forward enought to clear the U shaped standard. Top hat board are usually used to gain extra bellows extension, but 1 inch extension would allow the shutter to clear the standard.
