SOLD
After some consideration I've decided to sell off my M6 (1772863) that I've owned for five or six years. It is in GORGEOUS condition and completely ready to go as a shooter or collectable as it is very clean with no discernible marks.

I pimped it out a tad to my liking and will include all the additional pieces so the new owner has the option of keeping it as it is or changing it back to its factory state.

Here is the list of upgrades:
  • black M3 style a film advance lever, I'm including the original hinged advance lever and the tool as well in case you wanna change it back. I really like the non hinged advance though, especially if you shoot with older M's along side this one.
  • black base plate as it looks better with the black details of the Panda. Of course the original silver base plate is included as well.
  • the flash shoe spring and set screw were swapped out with a black one. The silver spring and set screw are included.
  • This is a cool one, awhile back I found a pair of new black anodized strap lugs and was thinking if the camera ever needed to be opened up for service I would have the chrome ones installed and the black one installed. The camera is solid as a rock and never needed to be opened but the strap lugs are included if you want to eventually swap them out. It should look pretty cool blacked out.
  • I also added the newer style slotted battery holder and am including the original one as well.
  • Also included is an M-Winder that I picked up but never really shot with, the winder isn't mint like the camera, you can see where it looks like a little battery corrosion was cleaned off of one of the pickups. It works just fine, but it is there if you are a stickler...(like me)
  • I'm including a grip that I made for the camera, I use Arca Swiss quick releases on everything and was disappointed that nobody makes a small grip with the dovetail, so I made one myself.
The lenses includes are:

A Canon 19mm f/3.5, there were three versions of this lens and some have indicated the smaller FD version (that required an SLR with a mirror lock up) was the best of the three. This particular lens is in mint condition, super-clean glass, VERY smooth focus and aperture movements. The lens come with an empty 58mm filter ring (as a little lens shade), front lens cap, extended rear Canon FD cap, Canon FD to Leica M adapter with an extended metal M cap. I do not have a finder for this lens, I had intended to pick up the official Canon 19mm finder and haven't yet.

Here is Steven Gandys (cameraquest.com) quote about the 19mm's:

"19/3.5 Canon: This is a rare lens sought by both collectors and users. Black for the late Canon 7s. The widest lens made with RF coupling in LTM. Excellent finder. Three versions: with RF coupling, for FD mount and separate finder for use with mirror locked up, and a TTL viewing version in FD. Middle 70's production, excellent lens for the time. Strangely enough, the 19/3.5 FL lens with a different optical design, intended for mirror lock up on Canon SLRs, tested noticeably better than the 19/3.5 RF version."

And a link the page where he discusses this: https://www.cameraquest.com/ltmlens.htm

35mm f/1.7 Voigtlander Ultron Aspherical, chrome
This lens is also in mint condition and looks fantastic with black and white, color neg and outstanding with color transparency. Additionally it's super small and has a focus throw of less then an 1/4 turn so it is very quick and sure to shoot with. The lens comes with a metal screw mount rear cap, metal Leica 37mm front cap, both a black and chrome Voigtlander lens shade and a chrome Voigtlander front cap that goes over the shade as well as a screw mount to M adapter.

I'm also including two deep Leica rear caps that are taped back to back to make lens changes in the field fast, easy and most of all secure!

I'm also including a 50mm screw mount to M adapter that I won't need.

All in all its a great system, to shoot with or just gaze lovingly gaze at. I'm just barely shooting with it nowadays and just can't afford to keep gazing at it. When it wasn't being used it was stored in a humidity and dust controlled locker. It's a very solid camera the new owner can expect to get years and years of pleasure from.

$2350.00 net to me and shipping and insurance will be around $30.00 in the US. I've been selling on eBay under m6leica since 1998 with 100% positive feedback. Local inspection and/or pickup in the western burbs of Chicago.

Let me know if you have any questions, have a happy and safe holiday season!

Dirk

Hey man! I don't suppose that grip would fit my M4, or that you'll sell it to me separately? I've been looking for something just like that for ages!

Would you be interested in parting out? If so, how much would you want for just the M6 body? Thanks!

this outfit is almost too pretty to use. I bought a very heavily battered m4 a cupla years ago because I wanted a user.

but it is lovely. Probably worth every penny.

if the m6 and m4 bodies are the same it should fit. I have not seen that they are not. If you look around, there are other grips available as well -- Leica made one that I have (and which also can be used on screw mount leicas) and there are off-brand ones.

I'm hoping to sell off as a group so I'm open to offers. If I do break it up you guys have dibs on the camera and grip.

You don't really need that much to build one yourself, just a Dremel and some hardware. Well and the two grip and the plate, but if you go to my blog I show you how I did it.

I'm actually really surprised that no one is making Something small with an arca plate.

Dirk

(PS) I got the 4x5 film already, thanks for the quick ship!
