I am doing some December cleaning! Given that I own a scanning lab now, I don't need these two desktop units.
1. Pacific Image Primefilm XA. - $275 shipped USA.
This is a great scanner, really vastly under-rated. I've scanned with a lot of equipment, high and low end, and this for 35mm really keeps up with some of the best of them. It's easily Coolscan level of quality. Plus it can't be understated that it as autofocus. It's in good condition, in the box with the power source, and a USB cable. I recommend Vuescan to run it.
I wrote a review of this scanner which you can read here: https://www.35mmc.com/15/03/2017/pacific-image-xa/
2. Pacific Image 120. $425 shipped USA.
I've really enjoyed using this scanner, with some caveats. It's quality is at least on par with a scanner like a Coolscan 8000, and I've recently had images go into publication with no complaints. It makes a 50mp scan from 6x6 film, with sharpness and detail to spare. I'll be completely honest about it though, I've seen it exhibit banding from time to time, especially with dense negative film. I have mitigated this banding through multipass scanning but sometimes it's there. However I just completed an editorial project where I scanned 30-40 Provia chromes and it never once reared it's ugly head. But I wanted to give out full disclosure because I won't accept returns in this case.
The scanner is in great shape, and it even includes a glass wet scanning base from Scan Science! You will need to order replacement overlays and fluid, but I've done wet scanning with the 120 and the results were well worth it. The stock holder was slightly modified to accept the glass base, but it still works either way. Again, Vuescan is the way to go here.
Here are photos of the scanners themselves AND a sample image recently made from both units. Obviously the square image is from the 120 and the 35mm image is from the XA. 120 Provia 100F, and Kodak's new E100.
