SOLD- This 4x5 camera was designed to make shooting 4x5 as easy as I could make it with the idea that I would shoot a couple sheets of film at the same time as shooting digitally. I built this to use as my personal camera and used it for a couple years. I am selling to fund a new project.
The camera is truly a point and shoot in the simplest terms, it does not even having a permanently installed ground glass. Just a spring back and a slide-in ground glass. The ground glass is really available if you wanted to slow down and not shoot handheld or on the go.
Weighing less than 780 grams, it’s the lightest camera I’ve ever built. It’s based on the clever 3D printed Will Travel body but like all of my projects, I cannot leave good enough alone. A smaller grip was added to the front of the camera making it much easier to fit in a bag, a modern brass helical holds the Schneider 65mm f/8 Super Angulon and spring loaded film back that is designed to let you quickly load and unload the camera with one hand. The first time I did this sort of spring back was on a Polaroid conversion, I liked it so much I did it for on this camera as well. Its only downside is there is not enough room for a Graphmatic back to fit, Quickload and Polaroid backs work w/o an issue.
The camera has a permanently mounted Arca Swiss plate but does not have a 1/4 20 tripod mount. If you do not use the Arca Swiss system I can include an Arca Swiss clamping plate for an additional 12 dollars. The camera has a removable 21mm Fujinon finder (that I’m pretty sure is made by Voigtlander).
