Hi, all -

After too many years of looking, I've finally procured full-time employment. And therefore, my free time to dedicate to woodworking projects, both camera-related and non-, is about to go to zero. So, though it pains me no end, I'm offering up this beautiful 8x10 Seneca View:

*Another* project... by Scott --, on Flickr

This is an earlier model than the Improved View 8x10, though is nearly identical in construction. Lacks the bellows thingy on the Improved. Mahogany body, clear-finished. Brass fittings. Absolutely beautiful. Camera has geared front rise/fall, geared rear tilt and swings. I have a couple drilled lensboards; I may be able to provide some undrilled ones, too.

Work completed: Replaced ground glass. Stripped and refinished rear box. Ground heads from rivets holding side supports to the rear standard; drilled and tapped rivets for disassembly access. Fabricated new front bellows frame. Sourced handle clips (originally missing). Sourced gear racks for an extension rail. Sourced locking thumbscrew for extension rail.

Camera is missing rear extension, but (as noted) I've sourced hardware for construction of a new rail. The woodwork involved in building this is not substantial, and should be within easy access of anyone with basic woodworking skills. Just not me.

Camera is also missing a bellows. I'd planned on using Sandeha Lynch for the new ones, as he's built 8x10 Seneca bellows for me in the past. He's able to accommodate some color choices and builds a superb bellows. Contact him for further details.

Considering the time and effort I have invested in this camera, not to mention my initial costs, I'm listing this one for $325, plus insured/trackable shipping and PayPal fees.

Someone, please, give this camera a good home.
Scott
