Is this a K-mount or a M42? I don't know that much about Takumar lenses other than that they are top notch.

It is the M42 screwmount (I should have made that clear in the initial post).

They are "top notch". Without going into too much detail, the SMC Takumars were the last of the screwmount Pentax lenses, multi-coated, and allow open aperture metering on the Spotmatic F.
