For Sale FS Olympus OM2n, lenses, fixer upper

OK, right up front: This camera worked when I got it last July.

Honest. I dry-fired it a bunch. I downloaded the manual and learned it. I said "wow, cool!"

I ran a whole roll of film through it, and most of the way through that roll it started doing that Olympus OM-lockup thing. You know, mirror goes up, shutter does not fire, hit the "reset" switch.

It worked. It didn't work. It worked.

Then it just plain didn't work. Thus it has been for the last month.

New batteries? Tried that.

New Silver-Oxide batteries? Tried that.

Fiddle with this and that? Cleaned the contacts? Prayer? Tried that.

Swore? Nah, not worth the effort.

So, the camera does not work. But it did. What am I doing wrong? What is wrong? No clue.

Other than that, camera is lovely. Lens (f-1.8 50mm) is lovely. Soligor 70-210 macro zoom is really really lovely.

For a mere $70, which INCLUDES SHIPPING IN THE US of A I will send the whole getup to you and you can figure out what's wrong. Maybe it will be happier with you.

Is the mirror foam sticky or does the mirror stall half way up?

If the mirror has witness of foam debris that would be an indication.

Does the first blind run or not - the 1st blind has the pattern on forward face?

No.

No.

No, it does not. Mirror goes all the way up, first curtain stays put, nothing else functions. Battery test does not show juice. Batteries work in OM10.

I"m guessing dead capacitor or something, from the way it failed intermittently, then completely.

I have neither time nor money nor strong desire to mess with it, so it's sell it or thrift store it.

Lenses have value. Camera has the flash shoe adaptor. I'll throw in the Olympus flash and olympus motor winder.
