Up for sale is a lovely mint condition Nikon F2S. I bought this camera several years ago because I always wanted an F2S.
When I got it I found that the meter and all LED's worked well but it was way off and not accurate. I put it aside with the thought of sending it off for repair, but life intervened and I never got it adjusted. There is not a mark on the camera except a few light scratches on the base plate from someones clumsy attempt at mounting on a tripod. I doubt if it has had more that a couple of dozen rolls of film through it and is extremely clean inside and out.
I would like to get at least $200 for this mint example of a classic F2, but will entertain offers above that.

If you will post to Australia ..then we are doing the business. Have been buying from the US since I was a kid, is oftentimes faster than conus and is handled less. I can give you friends addresses in the US but it means it gets handled twice, the post to me is honestly good, I would not risk what little money I have. I have had cameras and lenses and all kids of stuff go back and forth even my lawnmower was made there. even my Paypal is US Dollars
I saw Dan's F that he has listed, am so torn and I know Dan, but I have an F2 ..so of course I need another.

Will wait for your reply in the personal messages, will swap details there ..but I really do want the camera, have been looking at it since you posted it ..and now I have put the money together.

I am interested since I always wanted a F2S but concered with the meter. What is bottom line you would take for the camera? I started my photography in north central PA with a Nikon FTN. Have that camera and 2 F2s that I sent to UK for repairl.

I have contacted Sover Wong in the UK as to his ideas as to the problem with the F2S. He feels that the CDS cells in the meter have crapped out due to age and he can fix the meter to factory specks for $185 plus shipping. I am torn about selling this camera. I have never seen an F2 this clean and would really like to keep it. I have two other F2's, one in fairly good condition and one a real beater. I got my first camera in the Nikon family, a Nikkormat FTN in '68 and my first Nikon FTN in '70 when I was in the Navy. I am now in my 71st year switching to digital and have a Nikon 7100 DSLR and am happy that I can use many of my Nikon manual focus lenses with this camera. I have sold or am selling my medium format and 4x5 gear as I head into retirement from film, but would like to be able to still shoot 35mm and plan on keeping a couple of 35mm bodies. So, I'm not sure if this camera is still available.

I have a load of 120 both B&W and color, some older than others but all has been consistently frozen. I got rid of most of my 4x5 but do have a couple of boxes of 4x5 that have been opened but have no idea how much is left in the boxes. I plan on keeping all of my 35mm film for the time being. I will be putting this film up for sale soon.

is ok, I found three (black) that I liked but then I found a shop that has a mint body without a scratched base (but without the S meter). He has a super clean DE-1 as well, so I might get that and get an AS meter later. Everything is serviced, it was a trade-in from a customer they already look after so they know the camera and all the foam is done as well. My son found him, all the Japanese go there, so it worked out better for me and my son got to practice his Japanese. I have no idea what they said, but it was nearly an hour on Skype, I just had to sit back and watch them laughing and at the end it looks like I just got myself very nice camera. Will tell my son to go ahead .. so all good.

Robert,
Seems I can't figure out how to send a private post I'll do it here. Seems you are like me but a little older, I was in the Navy from 1978 to 1982 and then did an additional 18 years in the reserves. I started in HS with a Nikon FTN and 50mm f2 lens, great camera and I sold it and my Mamiya C220 just before joining Navy. Then on a destroyer I ordered a Mamiya 645 1000s complete system from Japan that I used till I got married. Then grad school, kids, work and Reserves kept me busy till 2003 and I tried digital to capture kids growing up and got a Nikon D100. I finally got back to fine art photography now with digital and still use 35mm, 120mm and 4x5. I did find a very clean Nikon FTN I am using with the 50mm f2 lens and I got lucky and bought 2 Nikon F2s (one chrome one black with DP1 and DP10, sent them to Sover Wong to rebuilt and he does great work but at a cost and the shipping/customs is expensive! You do have a nice F2S and if you decide to part with it I'd buy it, my other option I have thought about is just buy a DP11 or 12, can't remember, from Wong, he has ones for sale. If I bought yours I would send it to Sover for rebuild. Seems I keep working to buy more toys! I do like the feel of the F2 more than my FTN. Rugged camers and I plan to keep using them!

I have decided at this point to keep this camera and send it off to Sover Wong for refurbishment. If this changes in the future I will relist it. Thanks to all who chimed in and checked out this mint F2.
