Nikon F grey accessory shoe for fitting a flash unit. It shows very slight signs of use, only where it slid onto a camera or flash slid into it, but the sliding marks are noticed only on close examination, and no scratches or marks anywhere that I can see, i.e. no damage. This is a "cold shoe", not a "hot shoe" type of accessory attachment (of course, seen clearly in the photo but I had to say it).
An auction site page claims that it's "Designed for Nikon F and F2 cameras to accept early Rangefinder Flash Unit BC-4 and BC-5", but I can't vouch for the accuracy of that claim.
According to the Nikon F instruction manual, found on MIR.com (what a great site, thanks very much);
" The Nikon Flash Unit BC-7 fits directly over the rewind crank and requires no synchronizing cord. For other flash units, the Nikon flash unit adapter must first be slipped into place over the rewind crank and the synchro cord plugged into the synchro terminal on the edge of the camera." see: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/manuals/nikonf/nikonfmanual/flash.htm
Why am I selling it? I don't need it or have a use for it, received it with some other items, and I hope it can find a good home with someone who wants it or needs it. $5 obo plus postage.
