This is a tough one. I was taken by surprise at how nice these bodies are, very well made in the old Nikon tradition, nice bright finder. It works fine with autofocus, but I think it really is a sleeper as a manual focus body (AI lenses). The screen is nice, focus confirmation is handy, and it has center weighted and spot metering with AI lenses for manual exposure or aperture priority. Tough only because prices are so low now. Hopefully I can make it an appealing deal with some some extra lithium batteries thrown in.

The camera is in nice shape and comes with the original owners manual. I really don't this camera has seen a lot of use. I shot with it a fair bit last fall, but really mostly stick to my old F's.

$45 plus shipping for the body, 4 batteries (one I've had in the camera, 2 packaged and fresh dated 2016, and one dated 2010 that tests great), original manual. Payment by PayPal as a "gift". US only. Preference to Apug regulars (I mention this only because I've had some suspicious inquiries and offers in the past).

I'm one of the folks who bought one of these new..... I still have it because it does EVERYTHING so well. I have lots of 35mm bodies but this is one that has been tried and true many many times.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was pretty negative about this sort of camera when they came out (electronic, autofocus, etc), but was quite surprised when this one showed up from a friend and I gave it a try. I'm more of a manual focus/manual exposure guy and had it just never occurred to me they would be good for that too. The finders are surprisingly nice. It is hard to believe you can buy something this sophisticated for less than $50. It is certainly a great time to be a film shooter.

Agreed; this is cool to see, as it was my first SLR...given to me by my dad...and lasted, well, it's still here. These did most all you need, meter, open shutter, advance film  All for juuuust a bit less than a fraction of fancier boxes. Indeed, when those younger than old me ask about 'getting into film' this is a camera I point to. Simple, effective...and under the price of dinner.
