I bought a bunch of Minolta 50 lenses at a yard sale and listed them on the auction site, but this one I'm listing here because to me it's the pick of the litter. It seems to be from the 70's from what I can gather from mr google, and is in a different class than the other Minoltas that I bought. The build quality is as good as the classic Takumars, and the focus is butter smooth. Cosmetics are excellent, and the glass is clean and clear, w/ only a tiny hair inside and nearly no dust. Snappy and clean aperture blades. In short, I don't see a thing wrong w/ it.
It's big and heavy compared to the tiny and plasticy later lenses, and takes a 55mm filter. What makes it special, besides the superior old school build quality, is the sharpness. Everyone that has used this version and posted their results on the web mentions that it is a tad soft wide open, then sharpens smartly once you stop it down a bit. To me, this is a big plus! Should make a great 50 portrait lens. US sale only please. $24.50 plus $6 insured and tracked priority shipping. Paypal, personal ck, money order, or Arista EDU Ultra 100/ Tri-X in 35mm format as payment are fine by me.
