This is the first version of the Minolta Autocord TLR (approx 1955), in great mechanical and excellent cosmetic condition. This camera is an excellent shooter and ready to load with film right now. Camera has been film-tested and works great, except for one issue with the B setting noted below.
- Taking lens: 75mm f:3.5 Chiyoko Rokkor, coated
- Viewing lens: 75mm f:3.2 View-Rokkor, coated
- Shutter: Optiper MXS, speeds 1 - 1/400 + B, X & M flash sync, self-timer
Condition: I did some general service and cleaning of the camera. I installed a new viewing mirror and front panel leather. The camera had sat unused for several years, so all slow speeds 1/15 and under were sluggish. Did some light flushing of the slow speed mechanism, but did not disassemble the shutter, so all slow speeds are now reasonably accurate, except B which still sticks. This would easily be fixed with a thorough shutter service.
Cosmetic: Very small amount of paint wear on the black trim, but no dents or dings. Only notable wear is to the black paint below the taking lens (see photo). Leather is excellent. Included are replacement body coverings from Camera Leather, should you need to replace any in the future. Interior is clean. Has original focusing screen installed, which is in good condition.
Mechanical: Focusing hood opens and closes smoothly. Aperture and shutter levers move smoothly and the aperture blades are clean. Film winding is smooth, no issues with frame spacing or film counter. Self-timer works. Focusing knob is intact and functions perfectly.
Optics: Viewing and taking lenses are clean and clear. Viewing mirror is new, as the original had pitting/flaking. The taking lens has some light front coating scratches which are only visible if viewing from behind at a bright light source. These should have zero effect on images, especially if you use the hood.
This camera has many features that put it above the Rolleicord, IMHO, and the Rokkor lenses appear to be outstanding. I've included a scan of the contact sheet from my first test roll of this camera, to show the consistent frame spacing and accurate exposures this camera provides. (Artifacts seen on some of the frames are from the plastic negative holders, not the images themselves).
Included with the camera are the original lens caps, aftermarket plastic Bay I lens hood, and extra replacement coverings for the body. Asking $175.00 total, which includes shipping via USPS Priority mail anywhere in the U.S.. PayPal payment only. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
