For Sale FS Leica M2, Recent CLA

This is a really nice late model M2. Serial number from 1966, it is a lever rewind model with self timer. It was completely overhauled (cla'd) by Sherry Krauter (Golden Touch) in March 2011. It operates flawlessly. The body covering is original and intact. The cosmetics are almost perfect except there is some minor paint loss around the film door and a name & number lightly engraved on the back under the wind lever, so I've priced it accordingly at $850 shipped in the US.

I forgot to mention that I'll include the bottom half of a old Leica ever-ready case that will fit this M2 and a Leica leather strap... I would not recommend using the old leather strap though- it's just nice to have.

Oh just grab it! An M2 for this price in this condition with a recent CLA from Sherry is not around much. You can always sell for as much, and maybe even more.

And he deserved it too... The buyer came through Craigslist, not through this site. He drove 2 hours the day after a snow storm to pick it up- and paid the full asking price. I would have liked to sell it here but unfortunately I only received a couple of low offers through APUG.

This young man will be more or less giving up on digital and getting back to analog photography... and he totally gets the aesthetic of the M2. Even bought a print from me while he was here. I must say it was a fine transaction indeed!
