FS: Leica IIIa body
Bought this body about a year or so ago and it works great. Only selling as I have a IIIf and decided I do not need both. Speeds seem pretty much right on, even the slow ones, using the iPhone program Shutter Tester all seem to be within 1/3rd stop, and for my B&W shooting exposures have been very good. Leather looks good though some fading from age. Only flaw, other than brassing here and there on some edges, is some funky imperfection on the top plate just over the viewfinder, maybe someone tried to rub out some engraved initials or a drivers license #? (it seems purely cosmetic and does not affect function best I can tell), all can be seen in the images I attach. Includes brass take-up spool as shown. Snappy, good-sounding (quiet) shutter and solid-feeling film advance. Viewfinder about as good as pre-g Barnacks get with RF patch having decent enough contrast and from using many different lenses focus seems accurate though I have not officially tested.
A nice user Barnack. If you have not tried one you are missing out, they are really neat cameras.
Leica IIIa body: $225 plus shipping.
