Leica II (or Model D)
This is an early production Leica II from 1932, in black paint with nickel trim. It has the early-style, larger size speed dial and the so-called "toilet seat" depressed surrounding platform. Apparently intended for export ("Germany" marking in the accessory shoe plate).
As you can see in the pictures this camera is in really excellent condition. There are a few light marks on the bottom plate (difficult to photograph) and a couple of small marks on the top. The original covering has a couple of splits, one running up/down in the back and the other is partial and on one side (see pics). However, note that the covering is not loose or pulling up in these areas. You can leave it as-is for originality, or perhaps in future re-cover with a modern skin. There is minimal paint loss and it still looks very glossy. All in all, a very nice camera body!
Operationally, it is also in superb condition. The camera was serviced about 1 1/2 years ago by Don Goldberg (DAG Camera Repair) and has been used sparingly since then. It has completely new shutter curtains. The speeds are correct. The RF image is great. The film advance is firm and smooth. In other words, it works exactly as it should. I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a better operating example. Includes the take-up spool.
As a bonus, I'll also include one excellent condition Leica FILCA cassette, in case you want the full, authentic Leica II film handling experience! (The use of Leica film cassettes is not necessary, but they do work rather well).

Elmar 50mm f3.5
Also from 1932, this nickel Elmar is a perfect match for the Leica II. Distance marked in Feet. Condition is very good, especially considering its age. There are some cleaning marks up front but nothing too bad. And also the usual bit of internal dust and light haze. So it might benefit eventually from a cleaning but I have used it many times and it works fine. (Of course, all the uncoated lenses are best used with a hood). The focusing and aperture movements are both quite smooth. Comes with a Leica front cap and a generic rear cap.
