For sale here is the quirky Konica Hexar AF, a fixed-lens, auto-focus 35mm camera. As the photos show, the body has some exterior wear, but nothing out of the ordinary considering its age. There are no dents or bumps anywhere. Light seals are good. All the controls and all the LED lights work, and this sample (serial #0032746) has the Silent Mode programmed in it.
Now for the bad—though clear with no discernible haze or fungus, the f/2.0 lens has some light scratches on the outer surface. They are on the order of what people euphemistically refer to as “cleaning marks.” The scratches are not deep, but they are nonetheless there, as one of the attached photos shows. Having said that, I have not noticed any appreciable lack of quality in the negatives that I have been able to get from this camera.
Now for the good—this sample has had the important upgrade to the shutter button. I had the shutter switch professionally replaced with a much more robust part than what the camera came with. Bottom line, this sample has none of the erratic auto-focus operation that besets many a Hexar AF still fitted with the original shutter button switch. I can provide more details about the upgrade by request.
I am asking $485, using PayPal. Quoted price is for the whole transaction, including shipment by USPS Priority Mail to anywhere in the U.S. I am also open to shipping to Canada, but price will be a little higher to cover the added shipping cost.
