The lens is in good condition. It's a process lens, but multicoated and works well. It's in barrel btw. The glass looks clean. The board is a bit banged up, but it's only cosmetic.

Stupid question: what's a "process lens"?

Here's a good description, stolen from Photo.net:

"Process lenses are lenses which are primarily designed for the graphics industry. They are flat field lenses which are optimized for 1:1 reproduction. That being said, many of the process lenses are excellent large format landscape lenses if stopped down. Examples are the Schneider G Claron lenses."

For most practical purposes, process lens = enlarging lens = macro lens. Ansel Adams comments on the interchangabilty of process and enlarging lenses in his book, The Print.

A “process lens” was intended for use on a large (usually, but not always) horizontal process camera used in the lithographer’s process of converting images into individual cyan, yellow, magenta, and black offset lithography printing plates.

This used to be a photographic process. Now the plates are laser burned into the metal printing plates. Many LF enlarging lens—EL Nikkors in particular up to 360mm—were used on process cameras because in addition to being enlarging lenses, they also performed excellently as process lenses.

They seem to work well for landscape use as well. I used this lens on 4x5 as an inexpensive option for a telephoto lens, for the few shots I might need it for. It worked fine for that use, and I never noticed any quality issues because of it.
