Purely out of curiosity, what makes Agfacolor Ultra 100 so expensive?

Gram, I simply looked on eBay to see what it is going for. I suspect someone somewhere wrote an article or posted a review on IG maybe that then brings prices up as it can get hard to obtain, Same issue with all sorts of camera gear that gets talked up online.

I totally trust that the price is fair, I was just wondering what made that stock so valuable. Good color reproduction, reciprocity, just plain rare?

It was SUPER super super saturated and colorful film. Like Ektar compared to Portra, the Agfa ultra was over the top in its own way.

I shot AGFA back in the day, though I vaguely remember it being 50, not 100. That was like 25 years ago though, I just remember it being super colorful and slightly unreal.
