This lens is a big brother to my other Tessar listed. Its another circa 1910 Bausch & Lomb-Zeiss Tessar IIb in the original Volute shutter. Interestingly, its full plate size.
Focal length: 10 inches (254mm)
Maximum aperture: f6.3
Coverage: 6.5x8.5 inches/Full Plate (will probably cover 8x10)
Lens condition: 9.5/10
Shutter condition: All functions work. 3sec sounds accurate to the ear but 1/100 sounds slow.
At 10 inches, this was designed as a prime for Full Plate, it would be a touch long for 5x7, and wide for 8x10. I've not tried this lens on 8x10, but I would expect coverage without movements. This is a classic f6.3 Tessar, I have not shot with this lens, but would expect it to have crisp but smooth highlights, and a rather creamy bokeh. The aluminum Volute shutter is one of the cleanest I've seen and it shines!
No flange.
