For sale is the original "Texas Leica" Fujica G690 camera. It comes with a late version Fujinon S 100mm f/3.5 lens. The body has substantial brassing, and a small dent on the top cover. The lens is clear, without any scratches, haze or fungus. The shutter works properly, except that at B, it takes about a second to close after the shutter is released. All other functions and interlocks are working properly. The rangefinder is clear and bright and works properly.

The lower price reflects the small issue with the shutter. I could get it fixed if you're willing to pay for it.

Am I correct in thinking the shutter is in the lens and there is a curtain in the body to cover the film during lens changes?

If so, is the minor issue (with B) associated just with that lens?

I ask so this may be clear to others unfamiliar with the camera.

Correct. There is a knob at the bottom that opens and closes the curtain in the body. See photo 5 which shows the knob in O position, which means the curtain is open.
The issue with B is with that particular lens only. I have verified this with a 65mm lens. The 65mm lens has some haze in the rear element. It will be listed for sale, along with its finder.

I wonder if starting to rotate the shutter speed selection ring at the front of the lens wouldn't deploy the shutter mechanism more quickly. I have a lens for this system that has similar issues, and I've found that to be a surprisingly easy and effective work-around for my needs.
