Here's a nice 8x10 Planatograph in pneumatic shutter marked Eastman & Premo. Glass is clean, with a hint of separation. Includes mounting flange (and screws) on a 4x4 B&J lensboard.

Shutter timings are shown below. B fires instantaneously. T usually works as it should but sometimes also fires instantaneously.

Asking $125 + shipping. Payment via paypal.

Thanks,
Dan

I did a search about this lens, but i found very little.
Please state focal length and max aperture. If by chance you know which optical project (tessar? protar?), it would be a nice thing to know

regards

CJ

It's around 12" and f8 so basically a Rapid Rectilinear.

Actually, a Planatograph is probably an f4.5 lens, and that seems to jive with the photo of your shutter above.
Cheers, Richard

I missed where the OP said Eastman & 'Premo'. The Lens VM has B&L Planatograph listed as f4.5 with no other info but I see there is also a different Premo mention, with no info at all, so that one might be f8. Premo is listed under Plaubel as an unknown lens circa 1902..

I have no reason not to believe (based on the age and similarity to others) that the scale is the US system so 4=f8 (and, based on 13" focal length and the diameter of the glass, f8 is right). Camera Eccentric doesn't have a B&L catalog earlier than 1906, so no RRs listed there. Eastman bought ROC in 1903 so I'd guess it's from right around then (based on the "successors to" marking). This thread is how I got the length (seems to agree with what I measure).
