More spring cleaning. Joining the ranks of other Yashica TLR cameras currently available on APUG is the Yashica-Mat 124G I used in college 15 years ago. It is in "bargain" condition as there is paint wear on all the corners. I've had a battery in it, and the meter needle will consider moving if you point it at bright light, but what it's trying to say, I don't know (consider the meter dead). The glass looks great, the viewfinder (with a grid screen) is nice and bright, the focus is accurate, and the shutter and aperture controls work. It is basically a functional camera, when it wants to be. However....

There is one important problem: the shutter *sometimes* won't cock when you wind to the next frame. The film wind itself works fine; apparently the mechanism that actually cocks the shutter is not working correctly. I've been told that it is an easy fix, but after my unsuccessful attempt to repair a Yashica 635 with an aperture problem, I'm not in the mood to tear this camera apart. When the shutter does fire, it sticks at the slower speeds (like 1/4 second or slower). I last used this camera with film in 1998-1999, and the faster shutter speeds worked accurately at that time, but it has sat unused since then. I gave up using it because of the shutter cocking problem. It's no fun to crank through half-a-dozen blank frames hoping that the next one will result in a cocked shutter, especially not when you are a starving student.

So, this is an AS-IS sale, you buy this camera knowing it needs an overhaul.

Also included is a black leather Yashica case and a plastic Yashica lens cap, both in good condition. I'll post photos as soon as possible. I've cleaned it up, it doesn't look like it sat for a more than a decade. But it definitely needs a CLA. So, $50 shipped anywhere Priority Mail goes in the United States. I accept PayPal or we can make other arrangements if necessary.
