Hello,
I've outgrown this 8x10 enlarger so I'd like to re-house it. It's in decent shape with no significant technical issues. It's a Zone VI converted to 8x10 and then a fitted with a Kienzle VC diffusion head. So, a bit of a Frankenstein but when installed and calibrated it prints with the best of them. The tracks of the Zone column are in great shape, and extra counterweight was added for stability. This must be wall mounted but the base will sit on a table.

It includes a glassless 8x10 carrier and a DIY glass carrier. With the glass carrier you can print from 4x5 to 8x10 no problem. I'm included a lens mounting flange for a Schneider 240mm Componon-S, but the lens is staying with me.

This is a great starter 8x10 enlarger for someone who is building out their own darkroom. It would be absolutely wonderful with a Heiland LED or a custom LED. As it is, the Kienzle is a very nice diffusion head. I'm only selling because I have a Kienzle C252 on a freestanding table coming my way at the end of the Summer so I have to make room.

This is obviously local pickup only in Maine. $2500.00 $1500.00

Hi, is this the Type 1 or Type 2? Does the 8x10 use the same chassis as the 4x5?

Thanks

Sorry for being late getting back to you. I am actually not sure how to tell... I did not do the conversion. I got it from a very talented photographer and printer in VT. I'm happy to provide any additional photos that you might need however.

Type 2 has 2 focusing rails, also lens boards are flat round aluminum sheet sheet metal with 3 mounting screws. The glass less carrier looks like the one I have that came with my type 2.

Based on that description it would be a type 2.

Whether type 1 or 2 I'm assuming (guessing) there was only one Zone VI chassis with different heads for 4x5, 5x7, and then 8x10. Not that I think it makes any difference as from all that I've read the 8x10 conversions are solid (with the additional wall mount). Also, replacement tracks are still available but you've described these as being in good shape.

I'm in the market for a 45V-XL to use with an LED conversion head from Klaus Lundsgaard (which includes additional hardware extension and glass negative carrier). I've wondered (a bit) about trying it with a Zone VI as so far I haven't had any luck locating a Beseler 45V-XL (yes, I've seen some on eBay, but either out of my price range w/Heiland LED or Chromega Dichroic heads, or sellers not very communicative).

Not to sidetrack the thread at all but please post when you have the Kienzle C252. Looks like a great unit with many options.

No bites over the Holiday weekend but of course I'll still honor the $2k price. You're not likely to find a cheaper 8x10 enlarger without a lot of luck.
