Selling my 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic (top mounted rangefinder) with 135mm f/4.7 Graflex Optar lens and Steve Hopf borosilicate ground glass.

When I first got this camera it only had the fresnel lens and no groundglass so I ordered a nice borosilicate ground glass for use. Please note that the fresnel is in BGN grade condition but everything works perfectly and focusing with the Steve Hopf ground glass is awesome. All shutter speeds seem accurate to my ears and the lens is in good condition. It does have minor dust and very very faint cleaning marks but none of that affects performance. The bellows look like new. The top mounted rangefinder works and is accurate but could use a slight adjustment. When focusing with rangefinder the horizontal image matches up for focus but the vertical alignment looks off by 1-2mm in the rangefinder window but was still accurate when I was using the camera. Focal plane shutter doesn't work and I believe all it needs is a retensioning.

Pros:
- Bellows look like new
- Lens is in good condition and shutter seems accurate
- Top Mounted rangefinder (accurate)
- Steve Hopf borosilicate ground glass
- Nice sturdy hand strap for handheld shooting
- 4x5 ground glass pop up hood for protection

Cons:
- Focal Plane shutter needs retensioning
- Fresnel goes in front of ground glass and is in BGN condition (not really a con but to me it is)
- Missing battery cover for rangefinder (rangefinder still works perfectly without it)

Price: $400 shipped (US)

To whoever buys this from me I will also include:
(x2) 4x5 film holders (BGN grade)
(x7) Astia 100f quickloads
Around 23 sheets of 4x5 Kodak 320txp (I believe there's 15 in one box, and 8 in the other)

Question! What is different with the "Steve Hopf ground glass" vs a original ground glass or any ground glass?

Steve Hopf makes very nice GG. Much like satinSnow once did. Some feel that it is brighter than other GG and he has measured it as such. Google it.

The original Graflex ground glass is fairly coarsely ground, it is not very bright even when cleaned. Since then grinding compounds have improved in purity (grade) and it's possible to re-grind to give a much brighter screen. I'm talking about very significantly brighter, equivalent to 2+ stops

I replaced my first Graflex screen with a Hopf one, subsequent ones I've made myself as I have more control over the final brightness and contrast (I make quite a lot of screens every year).
