I'm looking for a new home for this beautiful 4x5" Burke & James Orbit monorail camera; it comes in a supremely built hard-wood case.

This should turn heads... beautiful red bellows and bright red knobs. Everything is functionally perfect. The only thing I can even think to mention is that one knob is cracked.

The bellows are supple and light-tight, rotating back works great, all gears, sliders and locks work like they're supposed to. Spring-back with basic ground-glass.

These cameras, which are identical to the Calumet CC-4** series, are not as precision built as some, but they are solid work-horse cameras that are probably indestructible, as well as highly functional.

I've included one image to demonstrate all the movements possible, and the only thing that it can't do (I think) is back rise/fall. I can attempt to answer any questions you might have.

I'm only selling this because I got a B&J Press, and I've got to get in the habit of 1-in-1-out. I hate to see it go honestly, but such is life.

Shipping will be restricted to North America, unless you're crazy and want to pay hundreds of dollars in overseas shipping.

$200 shipped within the great 48; OBO. Open to trades; inquire within.

I'll cover the 3% to APUG.

One of the first 4x5's I ever used. They are perfectly usable cameras. And this one looks very nice.

Thanks guys. It's an excellent example indeed. The lady I bought it from just did at-home product photography, and it originally came with a Symmar 180mm on it... a pretty good deal me had! ;-)

I'm going out of town today, but if anyone's interested, this is a great way to get into 4x5" photography and I can ship it next week.

I might have been able to resist my 8x10 B&J Grover if it had not been for the red bellows. My rational is, back in high school, if you knew a girl with a red leather dress, you'd date her. :whistling:

I hope this sells soon. It looks great.

Ahh, I see how it is... mum's the word, eh!?

Fine; how about $175 shipped in the continental US? Did I mention I was open to trades?

Wow,,, that would sure look better than the Orbit I've got with moth eaten bellows corners and a wrinkled grey case. But mine's got all good knobs.

So, any offers for my junker, with his broken knob instead of my good knob? (only winners on this gig is going to be UPS ;-)

Somebody... I hate to see this camera sitting here. This will not let you down. (I bet if you threw a lens of any sort on this, you'd sell it in no time.)

It'd go a long way toward peace in my house if "stray227" grabs it before somebody buys my parts camera and puts me in the position of needing to replace it ;-)
