I'm looking to sell a multi-coated 300mm Fujinon-A in a Copal 1 shutter. Fuji specs an image circle of 420mm at f/22 for this little beauty, which is enough for a bit of movement on 10x12 and will provide lots of room to work with on 8x10.
Like other 300mm f/9-ish lenses in Copal 1 shutters (Nikkor-M, Fujinon-C, Geronar, Apo-Germinar), the Fujinon-A is considerably smaller and lighter than any of the f/5.6 Tessars or Plasmats. It is, however, a bit heavier than the other f/9s, weighing 409 grams according to my kitchen scale with caps and the retaining ring. This is about half (or less) of the weight of any of the f/5.6 Tessars or Plasmats.
Overall the glass is in very good condition. There are a few, maybe a dozen, very small fine marks in one area of the rear glass near the edge. I wasn't able to photograph them but they're visible if you tilt the lens just right while looking through it at bright sky. It's hard for me to imagine them having any impact in actual use. You can see some scuffs on the outside of the lens barrels but there are no dents or dings. The rear lens cap is original, the front cap is generic.
It's hard to know a fair asking price as this is a fairly uncommon lens and months can go by without one showing up on eBay or anywhere else. There's one on the 'bay right now at $1500BIN, which seems high. A 360 recently sold there for around that price, but the 360 is even less common than the 300. So let's see if there's any interest at $975 shipped and PayPal'd to your US door. I will not ship internationally without tracking and insurance so the total cost will be higher and we'd need to sort that out.
Sorry about the overall blue cast, I forgot I had a custom white balance selected. The blue lighting accentuates the scuffs on the outer barrels.
