For Sale FS 300mm/5.6 APO Symmar Schneider lens, #14 384 595, in Copal 3 shutter

This is the normal 1:1 lens for 8x10. Front and rear Schneider caps and retaining ring included. Sinar board available for an additional $25.

The shutter works well at all speeds, 1 through 125, B and T. The glass is clear and unblemished. This is a multi coated APO-Symmar f5.6-f64/300mm Schneider lens. There is some Schneideritis flaking on the front cell walls. This is minor adhesion problem of the paint common to many Schneider lenses. It doesn’t seem to affect images. I have used it for the 7 or 8 years I have been shooting 8x10 and have had no complaints. The previous owner put a small strip of masking tape on the shutter opposite the f stops with markings to show the shutter setting while standing above or bending under the lens. I found this useful and didn’t try to take it off.

Sorry for the delay. Problems with the server.

There is no fungus. As mentioned in the ad there is a very little Schneiderites. I bought the lens second hand and used it 7 or 8 years. Because of that I can't say it is perfect as in brand new. It sold a lot of prints for me, won a few competitions with cash awards and got me into a bunch of shows. If it ain't perfect it is pretty darn good.

I think the price is fair both to you and to me. It is less than I paid for it several years ago and keeping with current pricing.
