I have 3 Nikon F2A's for sale in various conditions.

F2A - Serial # 80xxxxx in excellent cosmetic condition. Meter seems to be accurate to within 1/6th to 1/3rd stop. Asking $140.

F2A - Serial # 80xxxxx in mostly excellent minus cosmetic condition. Unfortunately, the prism release button on the back of the camera doesn't depress, so you can't remove the prism. Viewfinder is very dirty. Meter is about 1-1/3rd stops off. Asking $50.

F2A - Serial # 78xxxxx in excellent cosmetic condition. Meter is dead, and mirror lockup is frozen. I changed batteries and cleaned battery compartment, but it didn't help. Make offer.

I can sell/ship ONLY to US addresses. I accept postal money orders and, if you are a frequent poster on photrio, I'll accept a personal check.

Please add $12 for US Priority mail shipping.

Questions? Just PM me.

Thanks for looking.

I can send you some photos, but I can't do it until tomorrow (Friday). My wife has a small digital camera, she's asleep right now, and I don't have any idea how to set it up to take pictures LOL.

Thank you, most of the community has been on the edge of their seat waiting for your two cents. What a relief you were not interested.

I love people going at it in some poor fellas classified ad. At least it brings attention.

I'd make an offer on the dead meter F2 but you'd accept and I'd be stuck with yet another camera I've always wanted.

I am too very much saddened by these “regional” sales.

I can understand it, though, as some may not be willing to fill paperwork to send stuff overseas… and of course, in the case of big, heavy items, that would be too difficult and/or expensive to ship.

Still, I get sad because I’ve seen several ads of stuff I would really love to buy, only to find out the seller won’t ship overseas.

I guess it’s up to the seller to choose where he/she will ship to, if at all, but that doesn’t change the way I feel at all.

You people bitching about US only sales might take a look at what it actually costs to ship a medium flat rate box from the US to your country*. The price to Brazil, for example, is $79.75 and that does not include insurance. On top of that, the seller bears all of the risk. The transaction is almost completely without risk for the buyer. Sorry, but its just not worth it.

* goto usps.com, --> quick tools --> calculate a price, fill out the form.

Since I’m not “bitching”, I don’t believe your message was addressed to me. But here goes another 2¢ anyway.

Yes, I know how much it costs. I’ve bought from a handful of other users here in the past. There’s also a huge tax that I have to pay here. This has nothing to do with the seller, as the buyer pays for it.

On top of that, the seller bears all of the risk. The transaction is almost completely without risk for the buyer.

What? I have always paid in advance, both for the item and shipping. The seller gets the money right away and I get the package, most of the times, over one month after the postage (because of all the Brazilian customs bulls**t). At that point, I can’t even use “buyer protection” anymore, since it expired.

If the seller wanted to ship a piece of brick in the box, instead of the product he/she claimed to sell, I couldn’t have done anything.

The buyer could complain to PayPal while the item is stuck in customs. PayPal will side with the buyer. PayPal with then take the funds from the seller and refund them to the buyer. The seller is screwed and there's absolutely nothing the seller can do about it...even after the item eventually arrives safely in the buyers hands. In the end, the seller looses the item and the cost of shipping and insurance.

Then I guess PayPal is the problem here. I have never thought of these kinds of scams, it’s really not my nature. All the sellers here that I bought from have been so kind and I have absolutely no complaints about any of them. But what makes you think (if at all) an American buyer wouldn’t try to pull one of these “tricks”?

While I understand the frustration about US only limited sales, I feel for Vincent (the seller) - I hope all the off topic posts benefit him with some extra attention to his listing!
