For Sale FS 2 5x8 Amer Optical, Scovill Plate Holders from c 1890

Two double sided 5x8 plate holders. Made by American Optical Co., Scovill Manufacturing Co. N.Y. I would say they date from late 1880's to 1890's. These are kind of rough looking with a missing light trap cover on one, and screw holes and screws in the sides. They look to be useable, well at least 3 sides. Dimensions 6.25" wide, 9.25" high not incl. darkslide handle, 1 inch thick.

By the way, later Scovill merged with Anthony to form the ANSCO brand.
