Frozen Film Failure

510PYRO so I'd be interested in hearing what your time/temp/agitation was for the frames that turned out well.

1:300 dilution at 70F, pre-soak for 5 mins, semi-stand development: continuous agitation for the 1st min, then 10 - 15 secs agitation at the 10 min mark, done at 20 minutes, fix for 3 mins. I haven't printed or scanned them, yet, but visually they look pretty good.

Nope. no lens cap accidentally left on. About 2/3 of the film was just fine. Never left a dark slide in place, but I have forgotten to actually cock the shutter and didn't hear that it didn't fire when near something load like a waterfall!

A quarter of a century in the freezer is pushing your luck I would suppose. I wouldn't want to be in there for that long :]

Could be any number of things that caused it like cosmic rays (always want to go read a Philip Dick story whenever that term comes up), moisture had seeped in through a teeny space, etc. You will never, ever know what went wrong. Just don't do it again is the best practice.

Myself, I dislike putting anything in the freezer besides food, and even that I try not to do. It's bound to cause cellular damage. While it's true that some films are unique, and when they're gone they're gone, that's my policy. They're gone. Lots of good stuff out there to still shoot.

I'm on the side of those suggesting a camera shutter problem or an inadvertently left-on lens cap or the like. If part of the roll developed fine, I can't for the life of me think of why another part would be adversely affected by the same storage conditions.

How old is your fridge? If it's not frost free, moisture is a problem

IPhones couldnt be made in the USA even if Apple wanted to. China is the best equipped location on the planet for the kind of manufacturing required. It's not a matter of saving money, that is a side benefit.
