Hello,

a while ago I passed by some information somewhere (here or elsewhere) about someone actually resilvering mirrors in the UK, and doing a good job of it.

I know of the Polaroid scavenging, but this sounded perfect ... but I can't find the information anymore.

Does it sound familiar to anyone here?

I don't know about someone in the UK but I used marty1107 on ebay to get a replacement mirror for my Flexaret. I don't know if he re-silvers mirrors or just cuts down stock but he was able to supply me with a mirror to my specifications and it is bright and clear (and ridiculously inexpensive - $6.00 USD or close to it)

I think it may have been you, Ian, who mentioned something earlier - thanks!

I'll have a look at VCSM. I am thinking that I might be trying to get a better mirror for a Rollei TLR sometime in the future.

The Marty fellow also looks promising.

The guy in the US will be having a few mirrors coated at the same time which is very much cheaper than a one-off,. The UK company uses Aluminium which will last far longer than the old silvered mirrors.
