From the way the piece is written, I'm not sure if they mean their own film/paper sales, or if they have broader industry figures. But it's good news either way.

It mirrors broader industry news and also predictions made some time ago. The US housing crisis and it's knock on effects to the world economies held things back considerably but some countries are back in growth and at levels higher than expected. All helps with confidence and increased sales.
