All this talk, and today I find PX125 in 120 on sale at Ultrafine.

http://www.ultrafineonline.com/kopl125fi120.html

Interesting that even when it is on sale it costs 33 percent more than Acros 100.

I am not saying that the two are identical films; just that it is odd that the film company who ships their products from overseas can sell their 100 film for so much less than the company that makes the film here.

Use to be called dumping.

Use to be called dumping.

It still is called that, but I don't know if it applies in this case, as I am not familiar with film prices in Japan. The real defining point for dumping is not how much less the product sells for here in the U.S.A. compared to Kodak's equivalent product (T-Max 100), but how much more it sells for in the Japanese market than it sells for here.

If it is dumping, then Kodak can do something about it, but only if they can prove it is harming the U.S.A. photo film industry (A.K.A. Kodak).

Well, I always thought Neopan 400 was suspiciously cheap for how good of a film it is, and now it's discontinued. I happen to think Acros is just as good or better than TMX, so I would rather they increase the price of Acros than discontinue it.

Also, I really don't think $3.79/roll is a lot to pay for Tri-X anymore. I'm not a pro photographer, but it seems like if I was I'd just be passing on the material expenses so I would care even less.

That is because after it is made, they ship it overseas to be packaged, and then sent back!

I'm bumping this because I shoot more 120/220 than 135
but am shooting LP400 and AP400 in 35mm when I do.

I always mention to FS I'd like to see these in 120/220

it certainly can't hurt to speak up...
