Does this mean Rollei film will get cheaper?
Someone give me €29500 and I'm off...
A german online shop devoted to analogue photography has released a new Rollei collectors kit:
Dead Link Removed
In german online media it is stated that the shop wants to set a signal for the ongoing production at Franke & Heidecke.
The kit is said to be delivered in person worldwide and a photo story of the delivery will make part of a publication to come.
Marcus,
I stated that (depending on that source) there still is some production. But they same time all employees are stated to be given their notices. To me that means definitely the end of Franke & and Heidecke. May it practically be now or in six months.
Frankly I believe the high prices of the F&H products play a big role here. They would have sold many more twin lens cameras if they priced them more reasonably. When the 2,8 GX came on the market in the mid 80's they didn't cost more than around 1300. I can't believe the inflation made the price almost triple. With reasonable pricing and reintroducing the Rolleicord, thwy would have sold many many more cameras. Instead they chose to aim their marketing at rich collectors.
