Somewhere there is a documentary on her life and the complicated family dynamics that formed her. It's worth seeking out.

I've loved her work for a long while now. There is a great documentary called "The Woodman's" out there about her family. Her mom was a very well-known artist as well.

Thanks Valerie, that's the one I was thinking of.

She's a daring of the fine art photo work, since being rediscovered about a decade ago. Talented, committed suicide in early age, definitely, make for fascinating stories.

I dont think I've seen another photographer who could work space time and emotion so well into a photograph and to do that at such a young age, you could only ponder what she could of achieved if she survived her illness.

Yes, jumped off a roof in Manhattan, near NYU. I believe she shot with a Linhof & Rollex back.

From what I've heard, her dad gave her a Minota Autocord and she used it for her work.

The maturity of the work for her age is not something you see often. I like looking at her work next to Ralph Eugene Meatyard, he was older but i find a lot of the same sophistication. Both short photographic career but such powerful visons coming from both artists.
