Looking to pick up a Leica thread mount 5cm f/3.5 Elmar. I plan to make good use of it and for that reason am looking for one which is mechanically sound and which has good glass. I can handle a bit of internal haze, and if it has to be CLA’d I am open to that. Thanks for looking.

Background: Found a very nice Elmar as a result of a WTB here, and purchased it from a member on or about January 26th. Unfortunately and without my knowing ahead of time, it was sent untracked. Today while walking from the bus stop to home I found the empty box that was addressed to me from the vendor in a snowbank - nothing left but styrofoam strewn in the snow. I am guessing the postman put it on the doorstep and proceeded on his way, since no signature was required. But enough...

Bottom line, looking for an Elmar (again).

PM me if you have any leads that might help me in my quest. Am planning to use it on a Leica iiic.

Thank you.
Jim

What a huge shame/loss. I imagine the thief has no idea what they even have. Maybe try letting your local pawn shops know what to look for and give you a call, they might end up with it and pass it along to you. Good luck, Bob in Michigan.

Hello Bob. Thanks for your note and the advice. This whole affair bothers me in a few ways and I think I am just going to write It off as a bad experience - and put it behind me. And keep looking for another one in our community. It was kind of you to write. Thanks Bob. Be well. Jim in Winterpeg
