For sale: Fotoman 45PS with 135mm and 90mm lens cones. $800.00 and located in US. Excellent overall condition. The Fotoman is a handheld or tripod mountable large format 4x5 camera using rigid metal cones with focusing helicals for the lenses instead of bellows. Extra parts and accessories included!
This 45PS comes with the wide arial handgrips, 135mm lens cone, a second 90mm lens cone, viewfinder, viewfinder masks and an extra helical for a 90mm cone. The 135mm cone has a Caltar II-n 135mm f/5.6 lens already attached. The 90mm cone does not have a lens.
Overall excellent condition for the 45PS body. No abuse, dents or scratches. The only blemish is some very minor rubbing of the paint (no exposed metal) on the bottom of the camera where tripods have been attached. The viewfinder is also excellent, however the built-in bubble level has dried out. The camera does have a secondary acrylic two way bubble level in like new condition in one of the accessory shoes.
The 90mm lens cone is brand new. I used it once or twice, it has the original box and all the hardware. The 90mm cone as I bought it was intended for a Rodenstock Grandagon f/4.5--it came with a helical for a 90mm lens with a copal 1 shutter. My lens was a 90mm Nikon with a copal 0. The copal 1 Rodenstock lens mount was too big, so I bought a separate Fotoman helical for a 90mm lens with a copal 0 and mounted it to the cone. Both 90mm helicals are included.
Unfortunately I do not have the proper viewfinder mask for the 90mm cone. When I bought the 90mm lens cone it came with a internal slide in viewfinder mask for a different type of Fotoman viewfinder (seen lower right in photos, it's the flat tab labeled "45-90" in the plastic bag). I was unable to find the older style outside clip on viewfinder masks that this camera uses, so I made one from a wide angle mask and electrical tape (also in photo). It's not pretty but I took pains to make sure it is accurate for a 90mm lens.
The Caltar II-n 135mm lens is in superb condition. Glass is spotless--no dust or scratches of any kind, shutter speeds are accurate and aperture ring smoothly turns without any resistance. Includes both original lens caps and a Hoya 40.5mm UV filter. I've added and will include a really nice brand new B+W deep red filter for black and white and a matching collapsable rubber lens hood.
I don't have the original Fotoman camera case. Instead a grey Lowepro Nova 5 camera bag in excellent condition--no stains, wear or tear--is included.
