I have used Fotospeed's Fotolinen and Maco's Structura Lux in the past but believe both are no longer being made. Does anyone know of a similar product currently available?
Mr. Fizz- the paper you are looking for is called Slavich Bromoportrait graded chlorobromide fiber base...it is on the freestyle web or your local slavich dealer in the UK if there is one....this paper has the that look you are after and it is very nice..just not for me because I tired it
Best, Peter
Thanks Peter, I haven't heard of that paper. There is no Slavich supplier in Ireland and I don't know of any in the UK but there is one in Germany so I'll try them.
I don't think Bromoportrait is Fotolinen. Fotolinen is emulsion coated on linen. You can stretch it like canvas or sew it onto clothing. It's stiff like paper when you take it out of the envelope, but when you put it in the developer tray, it's wet cloth.
Bromoportrait is a regular double-weight graded paper that also comes in an embossed silk finish.
